Job summary

A Quality Facility Services is seeking a Controller / Accounting Manager in Canton, Ohio. This hands-on leadership role requires you to own day-to-day accounting operations while improving processes and financial reporting, with a hybrid schedule (3 in office, 2 from home).

You will oversee AP/AR, GL entries, bank reconciliations, payroll checks, and monthly close, contributing to the company’s growth and financial integrity. 5+ years of accounting experience and strong Excel skills are needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience taking ownership of day-to-day accounting operations.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred.
• Experience in public accounting or a CPA firm is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the company’s day-to-day accounting operations.
• Perform and oversee core accounting functions.
• Manage and perform accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements and cash accounts.
• Prepare general ledger entries and month-end adjustments.
• Assist with payroll processing and accuracy checks.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience taking ownership of day‑to‑day accounting operations
• Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar experience preferred
• Strong Excel and accounting software skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organization
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team
• Willingness and ability to remain hands‑on with day‑to‑day accounting responsibilities
