Job summary

10 Federal Storage is seeking a Controller in Raleigh, NC to oversee corporate and property-level accounting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and audit coordination for our real estate investment funds. You will lead budgeting and forecasting while driving process improvements through a high-performing accounting team.

The role requires GAAP expertise and extensive fund accounting experience in real estate, with strong leadership and communication skills to mentor staff and align

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Public Accounting experience highly preferred.
• Master's in Accounting and/or CPA designation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Extensive fund accounting experience in real estate investment.
• Understanding of construction project accounting a plus.
• Proficiency in financial reporting tools and systems.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee monthly review and performance of all properties and provide guidance on adjustments.
• Administer and maintain company-wide insurance portfolio (property and corporate).
• Oversee accounts payable guidance on coding and internal controls.
• Review department journal entries for accuracy and post corrections.
• Coordinate compliance with sales tax, real estate taxes, and 1099 reporting.
• Supervise monthly financial reports for all self-storage sites.
• Ensure timely reporting to stakeholders.
• Serve as ERP/system administrator and coordinate with IT/vendors.
