Job summary

Gateway Truck & Refrigeration, Collinsville, IL, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations and financial reporting. The right candidate will strengthen internal controls, improve processes, and deliver meaningful insights to senior leadership.

This is a hands-on, in-person role at our Collinsville headquarters with periodic travel to other locations. You will manage month-end closes, coordinate year-end activities, oversee a four-person team, and partner with the CFO

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• Previous controller or senior accounting leadership experience preferred.
• CPA designation is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel proficiency and ability to build financial models.
• Experience developing and leading a finance team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
• Lead monthly and annual close processes.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements.
• Ensure accuracy of general ledger and financial records.
• Oversee reconciliations and balance sheet support.
• Monitor and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Analyze financial performance and provide insights to leadership.
• Assist with cash management, AP/AR, and year-end tax activities.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team (4 employees).
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting.
