Job summary

TicketKings is a Miami-based live event ticket distributor seeking its first in-house Controller. You will close the books monthly on a cash and accrual basis, manage banking relationships, and build scalable financial systems as the company grows.

You’ll report to the CEO, oversee a back-office partnership, and drive timely, audit-ready records while enabling a cash forecast and clean financials for leadership.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in accounting or finance operations with monthly accrual close ownership.
• Experience accounting for inventory in e-commerce, marketplaces, distribution, or similar business.
• Proficient in QuickBooks or NetSuite, with strong Excel skills.
• Comfortable using SQL, scripts, or AI tools to automate reconciliations and reporting.
• Clear communicator who can explain financial results to non-finance leadership.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and deliver cash and accrual financial statements on a fixed schedule.
• Build and maintain balance sheet tracking for inventory at cost and by age, receivables, payouts, and refunds.
• Maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast aligned to inventory purchases and payout schedules.
• Manage relationships with banks and credit line providers.
• Set up reconciliation and purchase audit processes for offshore back-office team and review their work.
• Collaborate with outside accountants and tax preparers.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, including marketplace fees, duplicate charges, and missing refunds.

About TicketKings

TicketKings is a live event ticket distributor based in Miami. We buy tickets to concerts, sporting events, comedy shows, and festivals across North America and sell them on every major ticketing marketplace. We’ve been profitable since day one and have doubled in size every year since. We’re a team of about 30 people, with our core team in our Miami office.

About the Role

We’re hiring our first in-house Controller. You’ll take over our books, close them monthly on a cash and accrual basis, and build the systems we use to track our finances as we grow. You’ll report directly to the CEO, manage our banking and credit line relationships, and work with our offshore back-office team. Success in this role means timely, accurate monthly financials, a reliable cash forecast, and clean, audit-ready records.

What You’ll Do

• Own the monthly close and deliver cash and accrual financial statements on a fixed schedule
• Build and maintain balance sheet tracking for ticket inventory (at cost and by age), marketplace receivables and payouts, chargebacks and refunds, and prepaid and accrued items
• Build and maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast that accounts for inventory purchase timing and marketplace payout schedules
• Manage relationships with our banks and credit line providers
• Set up reconciliation and purchase audit processes for our offshore back-office team, and review their work
• Work with our outside accountants and tax preparers
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, including marketplace fees, duplicate charges, and missing refunds

What You’ve Done

• 5–8 years in accounting or finance operations, including ownership of a monthly accrual close
