Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Controller to join our team and serve as a financial leader and strategic advisor for our franchise clients. This is a fully remote role, working directly with franchisors and franchisees across multiple industries to ensure financial accuracy, operational consistency, and scalable accounting practices. This is a high-visibility, hands-on position for someone who thrives in a collaborative, client-facing environment and wants to make a meaningful impact within the franchise space.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary financial contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of franchise clients.
Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Oversee client accounting operations: AP, AR, payroll, budgeting, and forecasting—ensuring alignment with franchise system requirements.
Implement and improve internal controls, processes, and reporting systems tailored to each franchise's operational model.
Partner with franchisors and franchisees to support strategic decisions with financial data and insight.
Collaborate closely with internal teams and franchise networks to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.
Stay up to date on GAAP, franchise accounting standards, and accounting technology tools (especially QuickBooks).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA Required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including work with franchise clients and in a Controller or client-facing advisory role
Strong QuickBooks knowledge (QBO and Desktop); QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification a plus
Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while being a proactive team player
