Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8 to 10 years' experience in a financial institution, preferably in the credit union space.
• CPA preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing the financial close, general ledger reconciliation governance, regulatory reporting, and remediation of audit or examination findings.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, CECL, NCUA Call Reports, credit union accounting, and internal-control principles.
• Experience with BlackLine or a comparable reconciliation platform and a financial institution core system; Symitar experience preferred.
• Prior management experience with responsibility for deadlines, quality control, staff development, issue escalation, and sustainable corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly financial close process and maintain a documented close calendar.
• Ensure leading reconciliations are completed timely with supporting documentation.
• Coordinate CECL process and regulator reporting including NCUA call reports.
• Lead accounting staff through training, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Liaise with external auditors, internal audit, and regulators.
