Job summary

The Quest Organization in Boston, MA seeks a seasoned accounting leader to oversee all accounting and financial reporting for multiple entities, including trusts and investment vehicles. The role demands deep GAAP expertise, tax acumen, and hands-on management of month-end close and consolidated statements.

You will coordinate with legal, tax, and estate planning teams to ensure compliance, implement strong internal controls, and provide insightful analyses and forecasts for the CFO and family

Qualifications

  • CPA certification is required.
  • 7+ years progressive accounting experience with significant tax experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong expertise in partnership, trust, individual, and multi-entity taxation.
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns, K-1s, estimated tax calculations, and coordinating with outside tax advisors.
  • Extensive experience preparing consolidated financial statements and managing intercompany accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities, including individuals, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, and investment holding companies.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Manage all aspects of tax compliance by coordinating with external tax advisors and reviewing federal, state, and local tax returns, K-1s, estimated tax payments, and supporting workpapers.
  • Serve as the primary internal resource for complex tax matters affecting the family office, ensuring timely compliance and identifying tax planning opportunities.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting, capital accounts, distributions, cash management, and entity-level financial activity.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP and family office reporting requirements.
  • Prepare financial analyses, dashboards, cash flow forecasts, and reporting packages for the CFO and family principals.
  • Partner with legal, tax, investment, and estate planning advisors on entity formation, restructuring, transactions, and ongoing compliance.
  • Develop and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and financial processes to support the continued growth of the family office.
  • Assist with audits, financial reviews, banking relationships, and special projects as needed.
