Job summary

Vessel Advisors is helping a fast-growing consumer-products company in the San Fernando Valley hire a hands-on Controller to own the entire accounting function and partner directly with leadership as a true business advisor.

You will manage cash across marketplaces, complete the monthly close with accurate financial statements, oversee e-commerce accounting, inventory/COGS, internal controls, and the ERP banking relationship, relying on GAAP and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting, including a Controller or senior accounting-leadership role.
• E-commerce / DTC / consumer-products accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on ownership of full-cycle month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with marketplace/payment-processor reconciliation, inventory, and COGS.
• Multi-state sales tax / nexus experience a plus.
• NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• Manufacturing or product-operations accounting a plus and development potential.
• Proactive, mature, and confident—comfortable advising and challenging leadership.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and advanced Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Able to work on-site in Chatsworth, CA.

Responsibilities

• All accounting operations — cash across every channel (marketplace/Amazon settlements, credit card, ACH, wire), reconciliations, AR, collections, and credit/terms approval.
• The full month-end close and accurate, timely financial statements.
• E-commerce / DTC accounting — marketplace and payment-processor reconciliation, chargebacks, multi-state sales-tax/nexus, returns reserves, and channel margin.
• Inventory and COGS accounting; daily key-indicator reporting that drives decisions.
• Internal controls and accounting policies within the ERP; the banking relationship.

The opportunity

A hands-on Controller role with genuine runway. You will own the entire accounting function for a fast-moving, multichannel product business ? and partner directly with leadership as a true business partner, not just a scorekeeper. We are looking for a proactive controller who sees what others miss, brings it forward before being asked, and has the confidence to advise and challenge.

What you'll own

• Strong GAAP and advanced Excel. CPA not required.

Location & compensation

• Fully on-site in Chatsworth, CA ? easily commutable from Northridge, Woodland Hills, Van Nuys, and Simi Valley.
• $155,000?$170,000 per year, depending on experience.
