Job summary

Bober Markey Fedorovich in Akron, OH, seeks a seasoned Controller to lead client engagements, review financial statements and guide a CAAS team. You will work closely with the Director to ensure accuracy and timely delivery across industries.

The role combines ongoing client service with staff development, onboarding, and internal controls implementation. A CPA or CMA and 12+ years in accounting are preferred, with 2+ years in a supervisory controller capacity.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years in a controller role.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• CPA, CMA or MBA or equivalent.
• QBO Pro Advisor certification a plus.
• AICPA CCAS certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client relationships as the managing point-of-contact and provide proactive trusted-advisor services.
• Develop long-term relationships with client senior management.
• Prepare and review complex financial statements across industries.
• Conduct technical accounting research and document conclusions.
• Oversee onboarding training for new team members and coordinate with the Director on engagement plans.
• Ensure staffing/resources are scheduled to meet deadlines and client expectations.
• Participate in new business calls and assist with pricing proposals.
• Assist with implementation of internal controls.
