About the Role
We’re seeking a Builder-Minded Strategic Finance Partner (Fractional CFO/Controller) to help us professionalize, automate, and scale our financial operations. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a fractional leader who can zoom out for strategy and zoom in to implement.
Reporting directly to our Managing Partner (Integrator), you'll bring financial clarity, structure, and foresight to our growth journey. You’ll work cross-functionally with leadership to mature our financial systems and empower decision-making with clean data, accurate forecasts, and strategic insight.
What You’ll Own
Financial OperationsManage and improve AP, AR, payroll, and financial hygiene
Own commission tracking and performance-based compensation models
Lead and maintain monthly accrual closes
Oversee billing, invoicing, credits, and refunds workflows
Deliver clean, consistent Income, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, and Capital Stack reports
Automate core reports and dashboards (Zapier, GSheets, QBO integrations)
Provide monthly budget vs actuals analysis with context and insights
Respond to ad hoc data/reporting requests from leadership
Build and maintain a 12–18 month rolling forecast
Model hiring, compensation, and cash runway scenarios
Advise on pricing, vendor strategy, capital planning, and margin health
Participate in quarterly planning + monthly leadership reviews
What We’re Looking For
Must-HavesProven experience as a fractional CFO/controller in early-stage or high-growth environments
Strong command of QuickBooks Online, Gusto, Google Sheets, and automation tools
Deep understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial modeling
Skilled at building clean, actionable reporting from limited data inputs
Strategic thinker who’s also willing to do the work
Prior experience with commission structures and hiring runway planning
Familiarity with Zapier, Qwilr, Stripe
Experience in recruiting, staffing, or professional services industries
Exposure to EOS / Traction systems and meeting cadences
Logistics
Remote, but must be aligned to Pacific Time
Estimated part-time (~20 hrs/month), flexible on distribution
Long-term contract with strong potential for deepening role and scope
