Universal Hospital Services Inc. is seeking a Controller to oversee the hospital's accounting and financial operations, reporting to the CFO.
The role focuses on accurate financial records, month-end close, internal controls, budgeting support, and regulatory compliance while guiding the business office functions. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in accounting or finance, CPA or CMA, and at least five years of progressive experience, including supervisory responsibility and healthcare
Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for supporting the financial management and accounting operations of the hospital through oversight of financial reporting, month-end close activities, internal controls, accounts payable, payroll review, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis. Working closely with the CFO, the Controller ensures the accuracy of financial records, supports budgeting and forecasting processes, develops operational reporting tools, and provides leadership to accounting and business office functions while maintaining compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
CPA or CMA required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
Previous healthcare or hospital finance experience preferred.
Prior supervisory or management experience required.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls.
