Job summary

Based in Houghton, MI, the position emphasizes strong knowledge of US GAAP and IAS, ERP systems, and cost accounting. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 3–5 years manufacturing experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IAS.
• Solid foundation in general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency with Excel and accounting systems (ERPs) and payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the accounting department (AP, AR, payroll, GL reconciliation).
• Lead month-end close and ensure accurate US GAAP reporting.
• Conduct financial analyses to identify trends and variances.
• Ensure compliance with laws and internal controls.
• Provide financial insights to support decision making across departments.
• Develop and implement accounting policies to improve efficiency.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and KPIs for management.
