Job summary

Generational AI Lab in NYC and SF is seeking its first Controller to establish the accounting function in a hyper-growth environment. As the sole accountant, you will automate processes and drive efficient month-end close while partnering with global teams.

You will own pricing and contract structuring, oversee revenue recognition, and prepare monthly board and investor materials, with equity upside in a rapidly evolving company.

Qualifications

• Experience scaling accounting in a hyper-growth environment.
• Strong understanding of SaaS revenue recognition and usage-based models.
• Proven ability to build an accounting function from ground up (0→1).
• Familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS in a fast-moving company.

$260k - $290k + equity

Key responsibilities to include:

• Continue to build & evolve the accounting function as the only accountant in the business, automating at every opportunity
• Ensure a smooth & efficient month end close consolidation process
• Business partner with 3rd party partners within global operational entities
• Produce and own monthly Board and Investor materials
• Provide subject matter expert advice on pricing and contract structuring as well as ensuring accurate revenue recognition

Profile:

• Hyper-growth scaleup experience, preferably with SaaS and usage-based consumption revenue models
• Demonstrable experience of building accounting functions from 0 - 1
• Preference for candidates who have experience with an AI-native ERP such as Rillet or Campfire
• Significant experience on partnering with Commercial / Legal / Sales teams on pricing and contract structuring
• Strong working knowledge of both US GAPP & IFRS
