Job summary

Ventura Manufacturing, located in Zeeland, MI, seeks a senior accounting leader to drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and corporate consolidation across North America.

You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage treasury activities, and oversee tax compliance while building strong controls. This role balances hands-on journal work with leadership of a growing team and cross‑region collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with multi-entity consolidation.
• Global or multi-region accounting experience; Mexico experience a plus.
• Strong data-driven, process controls mindset.
• Willingness to do hands-on ledger work and lead a team.
• Spanish fluency preferred to support Mexico team.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close including intercompany eliminations.
• Lead accounting operations for NA teams and treasury management.
• Coordinate tax and compliance across entities.
• Standardize and improve close and reporting processes to support a 3-day close.
• Manage audits and regulatory reporting as needed.
• Train and mentor the accounting team globally.

Overall Expectation

Lead the accounting operations for Ventura's North America teams and accountable for corporate consolidation across all entities, bringing in all regions so we can roll up a clean, accurate financial picture. Working closely with the Finance Leader, this person turns the financial strategy into day-to-day reality and keeps the books clean, accurate, and on time. They impact the team by optimizing and cutting waste, rather than maintaining the status quo, and are still willing to get into the details on journal entries and reconciliations.

Highlighted Expectations

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, as well as corporate consolidation across all regions including intercompany transactions and eliminations.
• Lead day-to-day accounting operations for the North America teams (primary focus areas).
• Manage treasury across regions with attention to timing and cash strategy. Daily focus on US treasury, with weekly/monthly reviews of international treasury and cash management.
• Own tax and compliance coordination across entities.
• Standardize, document, and continuously improve accounting processes in a way that cuts waste.
• Manage annual reviews and audit activity, including bank required field exams and inventory audits, as necessary.
• Manage compliance reporting to external stakeholders (government, banks, etc)
• Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting (to support a global 3 day close)
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
• Train and keep consistent all accounting transactions / policies on a global basis, as needed
• Proper analytical review of the asset operations from a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred); CPA is a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (multi-entity consolidation preferred)
• Global or multi-region accounting experience (preferred – Mexico specific experience is even better)
• Relies on data and process controls to identify concern areas and address issues
• Comfortable across the full range, from strategic process design down to hands-on journal entries and reconciliations.
• Hands on leadership - willing to do the ledger work to reconcile accounts and keep cash flowing, while training the team on standard best practices.
• Spanish fluency preferred (supports collaboration with the Mexico team)
