Job summary

The Post Oak in Stateline, NV, seeks a Controller to oversee all Casino Finance and Accounting functions, including Count Room operations, while providing professional guest service that reflects the brand values.

You will manage month‑end close, gaming tax submissions, regulatory filings, and annual reporting; respond to Nevada Gaming Control Board and IRS requests; and lead teams with strong Excel and analytical skills. Nevada gaming registration is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or related degree preferred.
• 5-10 years progressive experience in casino finance & accounting, including managerial roles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Casino Audit and daily numbers for the daily operating report.
• Manage month-end close of casino accounting records.
• Review documentation for balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly gaming tax returns and licensing filings.
• Respond to Nevada Gaming Control Board, IRS, and other auditors.
• Sign checks as requested.
• Participate in annual budgeting process.
• Prepare end-of-year filings (W-2G, 1042).
• Perform other duties as required.

Overview

It is the responsibility of the Controller to oversee and administer all aspects and functionality of Casino Finance and Accounting and the Count Room. In addition, the Controller will respond as required to internal/external auditors, regulatory agencies and tax authorities. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities

• Oversee Casino Audit in the performance of daily work and compilation of numbers for the daily operating report.
• Manage the month-end closing of the casino accounting records.
• Review supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly gaming tax returns, quarterly and annual licenses.
• Respond to questions and requests from the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Internal Revenue Service, Internal/External Auditors and other regulatory agencies.
• Review and sign checks as requested.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process
• Prepare end of year filings including W-2G’s and 1042’s.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of accounting/auditing functions and knowledge of Gaming Control Board Minimum Internal Control Standards.
• Knowledge of Count Room procedures and accounting for gaming revenues.
• Knowledge of cage transactions and procedures.
• Knowledge of casino department’s revenue transactions and procedures.
• Must be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming Registration.
• Minimum age requirement of 21.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s or related degree preferred

5-10 years progressive experience, including holding managerial roles, in or related to casino finance & accounting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
• Work with others in close spaces.
• Moderate to high noise levels.
• Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.
