Job summary

System One seeks a Controller in Tulsa, OK for a direct hire onsite role. You will supervise accounting staff, manage monthly close, payroll, AP/AR, and ERP system administration, ensuring GAAP-compliant reporting and strong internal controls.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 7+ years of accounting experience and 3+ years in leadership, plus proficient Excel and ERP systems. CPA/MBA is a plus, with opportunity for growth and audits support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• 3+ years in accounting leadership or management.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing monthly close and financial statements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Office Suite, and ERP/accounting systems.
• CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant certification is a plus but not required.
• Experience supporting audits and maintaining internal controls preferred.
• Ability to work independently while effectively managing team responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accounts payable obligations are processed accurately and paid in a timely manner.
• Monitor accounts receivable activity and coordinate collection efforts to maintain healthy cash flow.
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll tax and reporting requirements.
• Serve as the primary administrator and SME for financial/ERP systems.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting.
• Perform and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and accounting records.
• Ensure controls over transactions and reporting processes.
• Assist with preparation/distribution of accurate financial statements.
• Analyze results, budgeting variances, and KPIs.
• Provide financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Support audits and other accounting-related projects.

Overview

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience required.
• 3+ years of accounting leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience managing monthly close and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial analysis preferred.
• CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification is a plus but not required.
