Financial Controller (Controller with Strong FP&A Capability)
Location: YCM USA

Position Summary

YCM USA is seeking an experienced and business-oriented Financial Controller to lead the company's finance function. This position is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, transfer pricing compliance, internal controls, and management reporting.

The Financial Controller will serve as a key business partner to the General Manager and Headquarters Finance Team, providing financial leadership, business insights, risk management, and decision support.

This role has a dual reporting relationship, reporting operationally to the General Manager of YCM USA and functionally to the Headquarters Finance & Accounting Manager. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring financial transparency, strengthening governance, supporting business growth, and maintaining alignment with Group policies and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and reliable financial reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and relationships with external auditors and advisors.
  • Establish and maintain effective accounting policies and financial procedures.
  • Support Group financial reporting and consolidation requirements.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
  • Analyze revenue performance, gross margins, operating expenses, profitability, and business trends.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting packages and KPI dashboards.
  • Develop financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support management decision-making.
  • Support strategic initiatives, investment evaluations, and business improvement projects.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships.
  • Improve cash forecasting accuracy and visibility.
  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and working capital performance.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize cash flow and operational efficiency.
  • Support Group transfer pricing policies and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor intercompany transactions and ensure compliance with Group policies and applicable regulations.
  • Work closely with Headquarters Finance, tax advisors, and external consultants on transfer pricing matters.
  • Support tax planning and compliance relating to cross-border transactions.
Internal Control & Corporate Governance
  • Strengthen internal control processes and financial governance standards.
  • Review authorization limits, payment approval workflows, and segregation of duties.
  • Oversee company credit card programs, expense reimbursement processes, and spending controls.
  • Support internal audits and risk management initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Group policies, internal controls, and governance requirements.
Business Partnership & Management Support
  • Partner with Sales, Service, and Operations teams to improve business performance.
  • Provide financial analysis supporting pricing, profitability, and operational decisions.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in finance processes and business operations.
  • Serve as the primary finance liaison between YCM USA and Group Headquarters.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
Experience
Required
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis.
  • Experience within multinational organizations.
  • Experience working with overseas headquarters and cross-functional teams.
Preferred
  • Experience in industrial products, machinery, equipment distribution, technical services, or related B2B industries.
  • Experience supporting sales and after-sales service operations.
  • Experience with transfer pricing and intercompany transactions.
  • Experience with IFRS reporting and multinational group reporting.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS reporting requirements and Group consolidation processes.
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing principles and intercompany transaction management.
  • Advanced budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A capabilities.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • ERP experience required; SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is a plus.

Key Success Measures (KPIs)
  • Monthly closing completed within 5 business days.
  • Accurate and timely submission of financial reports to Headquarters.
FP&A
  • Forecast accuracy greater than 90%.
  • Annual budget submitted according to schedule.
  • Monthly KPI dashboard issued on time.
Cash Flow Management
  • Improvement in cash forecasting accuracy.
  • Achievement of working capital targets.
  • Timely completion of transfer pricing documentation and compliance requirements.
  • No significant compliance deficiencies related to intercompany transactions.
Internal Control
  • Annual internal control improvement initiatives completed.

Salary range $100,000 to $140,000 per year plus benefits, PTO and hybrid work week.
