- Accountable: Takes ownership of deadlines, financial accuracy, controls, and results.

- Pragmatic: Understands how to balance strong financial controls with the realities of operating a fast-moving service business.
- Proactive: Identifies issues and communicates them before they become larger problems.
- Clear communicator: Can explain financial matters to both financial and non‑financial leaders.
- Team-focused: Develops people, creates accountability, and builds appropriate cross‑training and redundancy.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means the company's books are accurate, the close is timely, payroll and billing are reliable, cash is well controlled, financial obligations are met, and leadership has confidence in the financial information being provided.
Just as importantly, the Controller will build sustainable processes and a capable accounting team so that critical functions do not depend on any single individual. The Controller will understand both the numbers and the operations behind them and will proactively identify opportunities to strengthen financial performance, controls, and efficiency.
