Job summary

Scion Staffing has been engaged to find a Controller for a global manufacturer of cargo securement and transportation products. This is a direct hire, onsite role based in Prattville, Alabama, reporting to the CFO.

Qualifications

• Experience leading accounting and finance functions within manufacturing and distribution environments.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and audit management.
• Proven success leading, coaching, and developing high-performing accounting or finance teams.
• ERP experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365; familiarity with Power BI, OneStream or Salesforce is a plus.
• CPA strongly preferred; government contract accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, internal controls, audits, tax compliance, and financial governance across multiple locations.
• Partner with operational and executive leaders to deliver financial insights, forecasting, budgeting, KPI reporting, and strategic business analysis.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory standards while maintaining strong financial controls.
• Drive process improvements focused on profitability, efficiency, working capital optimization, and performance.
• Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team and collaborate across departments.
• Champion the use of financial systems and BI tools to improve reporting and decision-making.

This highly visible leadership role partners closely with executive leadership to ensure financial accuracy, strengthen internal controls, and drive operational excellence through data-driven decision-making. • Champion the use of financial systems and business intelligence tools to improve reporting, automation, and decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience leading accounting and finance functions within manufacturing and distribution environments.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and audit management.
• Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing high-performing accounting or finance teams.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, along with advanced Microsoft Excel and business reporting tools; experience with Power BI, OneStream, or Salesforce is a plus.
• CPA strongly preferred; experience with government contract accounting is a plus.
