Allegheny Family Network (AFN) is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all financial operations of our nonprofit organization. This hands‑on leader will manage budgeting, reporting, and compliance across multiple funding sources.
The ideal candidate has nonprofit accounting expertise, audit experience, and a track record with government contracts and grants, and will work closely with the Executive Director and Board to ensure fiscal health.
Allegheny Family Network (AFN) is seeking an experienced, strategic, and highly skilled Controller to oversee all financial operations of our growing nonprofit organization. With approximately 49 employees and multiple funding sources, AFN requires a collaborative financial leader who can ensure fiscal integrity, strengthen internal controls, maintain compliance, and provide sound financial guidance to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
This is a critical leadership position for a hands‑on professional with exceptional nonprofit accounting expertise, audit experience, and a deep understanding of government‑funded human services programs. The ideal candidate will have experience managing contracts and funding from the Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS), Children, Youth and Families (CYF), behavioral health programs, grants, and other public funding sources.
The Controller will serve as the organization's financial expert, ensuring the long‑term financial sustainability of AFN while supporting our mission of strengthening and empowering families.
The successful candidate is a financial leader who combines technical expertise with strategic thinking. They are comfortable managing complex funding streams, ensuring audit readiness, producing meaningful financial analysis, and helping leadership make informed business decisions. They possess unwavering integrity, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting the mission of a nonprofit organization serving vulnerable families and communities.
