Job summary

Regal American Homes in Paradise Valley, Arizona, is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the accounting operations for our luxury residential construction company and affiliated businesses. This role rewards a detail-oriented professional who treats the financial side of each project as a strategic asset.

You’ll partner with owners and project managers, manage payroll, AP/AR, and general ledger across entities, and lead job costing, WIP, and change orders to keep projects on budget and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of job costing, budgets, and WIP.
• Experience with cost-plus billing, change orders, draw schedules.
• Subcontractor compliance, lien waivers, and retainage.
• Payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience managing accounting for multiple related entities.
• Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Buildertrend or similar construction management software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with ability to prioritize deadlines.
• Strong communication with owners, PMs, subcontractors, and clients.

Regal American Homes is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the accounting operations for our luxury residential construction company and affiliated businesses. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with construction accounting experience who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and understands the financial complexities of custom home building.

What We’re Looking For

We're seeking someone who is more than an accountant. Our ideal Controller is a trusted business partner who takes ownership of the financial side of each project, identifies issues before they become problems, and helps keep projects financially on track from start to finish.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of construction accounting experience required.
• Strong understanding of:
• Job costing Construction budgets
• Work in Progress (WIP) Cost-plus billing
• Change orders
• Draw schedules
• Subcontractor compliance, lien waivers, and retainage
• Experience with payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting
• Experience managing accounting for multiple related entities preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise
• Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction management software preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
