Cyera, the leading data security platform, is seeking a Controller in New York to scale financial operations across multi-entity and multi-currency environments. The role reports to the Director of Accounting and helps establish policies and strong internal controls in a fast-growing software company.

Responsibilities include month-end close, technical accounting under ASC standards, and refining SOX controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with Excel, G Suite, & NetSuite.
• Hands-on multi-currency, multi-entity accounting experience (US and 1+ of UK, Canada, Germany, Japan).
• Knowledge of GAAP and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Month-End Close: support close with analytical reviews and adjusting entries.
• Technical Accounting: own recurring workbooks and documentation per ASC standards.
• Internal Controls: implement and refine SOX controls as the company grows.
• Assist with Special Projects: NetSuite optimization, process automation, cross-functional finance initiatives.
• External Parties: serve as liaison with auditors and tax advisors.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are searching for a Controller to play a key role in scaling our financial operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who has built and run accounting functions inside fast-growing software companies and is ready to take on multi-entity, multi-currency complexities. You will work closely with the Director of Accounting to help in establishing policies and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Month-End Close: Support the month-end close process by providing analytical reviews and making adjusting entries
• Technical Accounting: Own key recurring technical accounting workbooks and documentation, ensuring strict compliance with ASC standards (e.g., 340, 842, 718, 606, and 326)
• Internal Controls: Provide feedback and implement new SOX internal control procedures, continuously refining processes to support the company’s growth
• Assist with Special Projects: Drive cross-functional finance team initiatives, including NetSuite optimization, process automation, and ad-hoc accounting-related tasks as needed
• External parties: Serve as the primarily liaison for external external auditors and tax advisors

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, handling accounting responsibilities/functions
• Experience with Excel, G Suite, & Netsuite
• Hands on experience with multi currency, multi entity accounting ideally spanning US and at least one of UK, Canada, Germany, and Japan
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Interest in a role with wide scope in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

Compensation Range: $160,000-$200,000.

This compensation range represents Cyera's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting, and Cyera may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. The final salary for this position will be determined in Cyera’s sole discretion, consistent with applicable law, and based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the employee’s work experience, skills, and qualifications for the role, as well as the needs of Cyera’s business and other operational considerations.

Final compensation will vary based on seniority and relevance of experience, location, and position requirements.

This role may be eligible for potential merit increases based on factors such as individual or company performance, time in role, and other discretionary factors.
