Job summary

West Fraser in Kinards, SC, is seeking a Finance/Accounting professional to lead financial reporting for the mill. You will oversee monthly/quarterly closes, forecasts, and cost tracking, working with the Mill Management Team to improve margins.

The role requires a 4-year degree in business, accounting, or finance, 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, and strong analytical skills. Proficiency in Oracle and MS Office is preferred. A CPA or progress toward one is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
• 3–5 years of related work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with forecasting and cost accounting.
• Capital project cost tracking and analysis.
• Familiarity with Sarbanes–Oxley controls preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial close and analysis for financial and non-financial metrics.
• Develop mill financial forecasts (monthly, quarterly forecasts, annual plans).
• Produce weekly cost reporting to support margin improvement initiatives.
• Track capital project costs and compare to budget.
• Manage inventory control and analysis.
• Provide ad hoc analyses for Mill Management or Corporate.
• Support SOX and internal control testing as assigned.
• Assist Memphis Shared Services and site procurement with vendor queries and PO effectiveness.

Job description

This position will report directly to the General Manager and will be part of the Mill Management Team.

What you will do

Financial Reporting

• Responsible for timely and accurate completion of monthly and quarterly financial close and analysis for both financial and non-financial metrics including monthly & quarterly reconciliations.
• Responsible for the completion of mill financial forecasts (monthly, quarterly reforecasts and annual plans)
• Responsible for weekly cost reporting to support mill Margin Improvement Initiatives.
• Experience with Capital Project cost tracking and analysis vs budget.
• Knowledge of Inventory control and analysis.
• Ad hoc analysis as requested by Mill Management or Corporate.

Internal Controls

• Along with the General Manager, responsible for ensuring compliance with current internal controls at the mill.
• Support SOX & internal control testing as assigned.

Accounts Payable/Procurement Support

• Support Memphis Shared Services and site procurement with vendor queries and issue resolution
• Support site procurement on purchase order effectiveness to support spend forecasting and control.

Systems Implementation/Process Improvement

• Participate in design/training workshops. Complete user testing/validation

What You Will Need

• 4-year degree, in Business, Accounting or Finance. CPA designation or working towards one preferred.
• Related work experience of 3-5 years is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Forecasting and cost accounting experience
