Job summary

The Entwistle Company seeks a skilled Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting in a defense-focused, manufacturing setting. You’ll build strong controls, manage ledgers, and guide financial systems to support DoD and allied programs.

With 5–10 years of progressive financial leadership, you’ll drive accuracy, oversee payroll, and coordinate with auditors, contributing to national security while advancing your career in a collaborative, growth‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5–10 years of progressive financial management with GAAP.
• Experience with ERP systems; Global Shop Solutions is a plus.
• Background in manufacturing, R&D, and product development preferred.
• Cost accounting and government contracting; DCAA/DCMA familiarity is a plus.
• Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions.
• Establish and maintain strong financial controls.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements and ledgers.
• Support payroll processes and internal controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors for compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data and statements.
• Establish and maintain strong financial controls, including expense management and internal accounting procedures.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements, sub ledgers, and balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure proper documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Support payroll processes, including time reporting, account reconciliation, and internal controls.
• Manage billing, collections, and credit functions to ensure operational efficiency.
• Produce and analyze monthly and quarterly financial and operational performance metrics.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5–10 years of progressive financial management experience, with strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with ERP systems required; familiarity with Global Shop Solutions is a plus.
• Background in manufacturing, R&D, and product development strongly preferred.
• Cost accounting and government contracting experience, including work with DCAA/DCMA auditors, is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership, sound business judgment, and analytical thinking.
• Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Executive presence with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
• High integrity, strong work ethic, creativity, and the ability to make timely, difficult decisions.
