Our client is a publicly traded holding company focused on advanced electronic components, precision frequency control technologies, and specialized communications systems used in defense, aerospace, and industrial markets.

The Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal control environment. This role ensures the integrity of financial information across the organization and supports strategic decision-making through accurate and timely reporting. The Controller will play a key role in managing the financial reporting processes for both operating companies and the holding company, including consolidation of subsidiary financial results and development of scalable financial processes. This role will also support mergers and acquisitions activity, including financial due diligence, integration of acquired companies, and the establishment of consistent accounting policies and reporting standards across the portfolio. The ideal candidate brings a combination of manufacturing accounting expertise, leadership experience, and familiarity with defense‑sector business environments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across operating subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and oversee consolidated financial reporting, including intercompany eliminations and subsidiary integration.
  • Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Develop high‑quality financial reporting to support executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
Accounting Operations
  • General Ledger management.
  • Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable.
  • Billing and revenue recognition.
  • Cost accounting and inventory accounting.
  • Fixed assets and capital expenditure tracking.
  • Payroll oversight.
  • Internal controls and accounting systems.
  • Ensure accounting processes scale effectively with company growth and operational complexity.
Holding Company Financial Oversight
  • Support the financial management of the public‑company holding structure.
  • Coordinate financial reporting across multiple operating subsidiaries.
  • Establish standardized accounting policies, reporting formats, and financial controls across the organization.
  • Partner with subsidiary leadership teams to improve financial visibility and operational performance.
Mergers, Acquisitions & Integration
  • Support financial due diligence for acquisition opportunities.
  • Lead the financial integration of newly acquired operating companies.Establish consistent accounting processes, reporting standards, and financial controls following acquisitions.
  • Assist leadership in evaluating operational performance and financial synergies across the portfolio.
Internal Controls & Audit
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit processes.
  • Ensure accounting processes support a disciplined financial control environment appropriate for a public company.
Financial Planning & Business Support
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Provide financial analysis and operational insight to executive leadership.
  • Monitor working capital, cost structure, and operational efficiency.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff.
  • Develop scalable accounting processes and financial systems.
  • Foster a culture of financial discipline, transparency, and operational partnership across the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Direct supervision of accounting and finance personnel including staff accountants and accounting specialists.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing or technology companies.
  • Experience managing accounting operations across multiple business units or subsidiaries.
  • Experience preparing consolidated financial statements.
  • Experience supporting M&A integration or acquisition‑driven growth environments.
  • Familiarity with defense‑sector contracting environments or government customers.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with ERP systems in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong financial systems and reporting expertise.
  • Must be eligible to work with ITAR‑controlled information without the need for a license.
