Hale Tori, headquartered with in-office options in Honolulu, HI and San Clemente, CA, seeks a Controller to own end-to-end accounting and financial operations as the company scales across multiple legal entities.

The role requires 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership, CPA preferred, and hands-on experience with AP, AR, audits, and a modern tech stack including Dynamics 365, Power BI, and RAMP.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of accounting and financial operations.
• Controller or Assistant Controller with significant ownership in dynamic organizations.
• CPA or equivalent accounting certification preferred.
• Experience leading accounting teams to hit internal delivery dates and delivering quality work products.
• Ownership of full accounting close across multiple legal entities.
• Hands-on experience across AP, billing, collections, and external audits.
• Ability to communicate complex accounting issues to non-accountants clearly.
• Operate independently with focus on process improvement in financial reporting.

The Opportunity

As Hale Tori's Controller, you will own the accounting and financial operations foundation that supports the company as we scale.

This position owns end to end accounting, spanning close and reporting, technical accounting, audit, variance reporting, AP, and collections. This would include consolidating the financial result of six legal entities.

This is a highly cross-functional role, partnering with wholesale and retail teams across our brand portfolio. We're looking for someone with strong accounting expertise who is equally comfortable getting into the operational details of how the business works.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with meaningful ownership of accounting and financial operations
• Previous experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller with significant ownership, or equivalent accounting leadership inside high functioning, dynamic organizations
• CPA or equivalent accounting certification preferred
• Experience leading other financial team members to hit internal delivery dates, while delivering consistent, reliable, quality work products. Experience building and leading accounting and financial operations teams
• Previous experience owning a full accounting close across multiple legal entities
• Hands-on experience across AP, billing, collections, and external audits
• Strong cross-functional judgment and the ability to communicate complex accounting issues clearly to non-accountants
• Ability to operate independently with a focus on process improvement within financial reporting, streamlining month end, quarter end and annual close processes
• Ability to act entrepreneurially in a dynamic organization
• Demonstrated work experience using Dynamics 365 and Power BI
• Demonstrated ability to think through the treatment of accounting transactions as they flow into the accounting system and are reflected in financial statements
• Detail oriented with excellent time management and organization skills

Compensation

• $120,000 - $150,000 commensurate with experience
