Job summary

Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada is seeking an experienced Controller for an in-office role in Henderson, Nevada. This position reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with the Board and Practice President to drive financial operations in one of the largest oncology practices in Southern Nevada.

The Controller will oversee budgeting, revenue cycle, internal controls, and financial reporting, supervise accounting staff, and coordinate contracts and audits to ensure cost-effective

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in Accounting/Finance.
  • Minimum three years in a leadership role.
  • Three years public accounting experience preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • CPA, CMPE preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops systems and monitors compliance with company/practice agreements.
  • Ensure practice is compliant with accounting and revenue cycle policies.
  • Oversee revenue cycle and reconciliation of key accounts.
  • Report financial information to Executive Director and physician leadership.
  • Present financials at physician and board meetings.
  • Act as financial liaison between the practice and US Oncology Network.
  • Support departments in understanding and using financial information.
  • Ensure information systems capture financial data for payers and external sources.
  • Establish internal controls and write financial policies and procedures.
  • Direct cost accounting, budgeting, and special projects.
  • Develop annual budgets and coordinate budgets for all units.
  • Supervise accounting staff and manage performance and development.
  • Oversee operating, capital, and cash flow budgets and enforce compliance.
  • Review contracts for financial impact and risk; audit where needed.
  • Coordinate external audits and keep books/GL up to date.
  • Coordinate payroll functions and related reporting.

Overview

Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada has an exciting opportunity for an onsite Controller in Henderson, Nevada. This position is an in-office role at least 4 days per week.

Scope

The Controller works closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors and Practice President to help drive the business in one of the largest oncology practices in Southern Nevada. This role is key to the success of our organization by helping drive financial operations and business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

Some of the essential functions of this role include the following:

  • Develops systems and monitors compliance with the various company/practice agreements, including the Management Services Agreement with the practices and all related agreements.
  • Ensure practice is compliant with all established accounting and revenue cycle policies/procedures and internal controls
  • Oversight of revenue cycle and reconciliation of key accounts (AR, cash clearing, credit balances, reserves for contractual, bad debt and denials)
  • Responsible for reporting detailed financial information to Executive Director and physician leadership
  • Present financials at physician meetings and board meetings.
  • Act as financial liaison between the practice and the U.S Oncology Network
  • Provides support to department managers, practice administration and physicians in the preparation, understanding and use of financial information and assists the organization toward its goal of improving cost effectiveness of health care delivery.
  • Ensures information systems capture financial information required by third party payers, practice management, physicians, company and required external sources (Insurance, SEC, etc).
  • Ensures that fiscal deadlines are met and appropriate data is provided.
  • Establishes and monitors internal controls of assets/resources, including developing and writing financial policies and procedures.
  • Directs practice and site cost accounting, budgeting and special projects.
  • Develops annual budget and coordinates and implements budgets for all operating units.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop accounting staff, including performance management, succession planning, talent development, and career progression.
  • Oversees operating, capital and cash flow budgets and assists practice management in exercising control to ensure expenditures do not exceed budgetary limits and are in compliance with Management Service Agreement and all related agreements.
  • Reviews proposed contracts for financial impact and risk factors. Audits some contracts, orders and vouchers before processing.
  • Coordinates external audits as necessary. Coordinates some activities in keeping books and records, including maintaining general ledger and related systems for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Coordinates payroll functions and related reporting. Ensures proper receiving, deposition, and disbursing of all center funds.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in Accounting/Finance.
  • Minimum three years in a leadership role
  • Three years public accounting experience preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • CPA, CMPE preferred.
