Job summary

Norsk Hydro in Gainesville, GA seeks a Controller to lead financial operations for the plant, directing budgeting, forecasting, and controls. The role provides financial guidance to plant leadership and manages procurement, inventory, and capital planning.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of accounting and cost accounting experience, with ERP knowledge (Oracle, SAP, AS400, Hyperion, ADP, Ultimate) and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CMA/CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with cost accounting and managerial experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with ERP and related systems (Oracle, SAP, AS400, Hyperion, ADP, Ultimate).

Responsibilities

• Close monthly financials reflecting profit & loss, assets, cash from operations.
• Oversee monthly inventories and validate financial data.
• Provide financial analysis support to Plant Manager and line managers.
• Lead planning, forecasting and budgeting processes for the operation.
• Monitor and enforce internal controls and financial policies.

Job Summary

The Controller provides leadership and direction for managing the operation’s financial position financial interpretation, assets, procurement activity, payroll hours administration system, and internal controls. Directs the development of annual operating plans, departmental budgets, monthly/quarterly forecasts, cost reduction initiatives/recommendations and profitability.

What you will be doing

• Successfully completes monthly closing cycles to properly reflect the financial position of the plant - profit & loss, capital base and cash from operations.
• Directs and oversees monthly physical inventories.
• Provides financial analysis support/guidance to all line managers and Plant Manager.
• Directs and completes the planning, forecasting and budgeting processes of the operation.
• Monitors the financial policies, practices and procedures of the operation.
• Ensures the necessary internal controls (and compensating controls) to safeguard the Company’s Assets and adheres to the company’s financial management policies.
• Directs the activities and provides leadership to the procurement employees of the operation, ensuring all Company Values are inherent in daily performance of responsibilities.
• Manage capital spending requests, including calculating payback and developing sound business cases to present to management requesting capital funds.
• Provides financial and manufacturing analysis of both a recurring and ad-hoc nature to management outside of the operations.

What will make you successful?

Required Education / Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus in cost accounting and managerial experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in systems such as: Oracle, SAP, AS400, Hyperion, ADP, Ultimate, full ERP capabilities.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• CMA or CPA a plus.
