Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
  • Over 5 years of progressively responsible experience in an accounting department of a manufacturing company.
  • CPA highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using ERP systems, with a preference for IFS.
  • Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly accounting close process by calculating, reviewing, and processing journal entries, ensuring the general ledger is complete, materially accurate, and closed timely in accordance with internal and external reporting standards.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets to the company's general ledger.
  • Manage sales and use tax, including preparing returns, submissions, exemptions, and related certificates, as well as conducting taxability analysis and reconciliations.
  • Oversee inventory management, focusing on reducing slow-moving and obsolete stock, and support periodic inventory cycle counts and adjustments.
  • Review and approve costing of materials.
  • Manage daily cash operations, including negotiating terms with customers and suppliers.
  • Supervise general office management duties, including managing utility contracts, office supplies, and services.
  • Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances, providing management with explanations and recommended actions to improve profitability.
  • Participate in and support special projects.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure standardized monthly balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed in accordance with policy.
  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records for the plant in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.

Job Title: Controller
Job Description

The Controller will be primarily responsible for bridging the gap in financial operations, including December year-end stock planning, balance sheet management, month-end and year-end close processes. The role involves working with IFS as the ERP system, as well as utilizing Excel, Power BI, SQL, and inventory accounting to achieve these objectives.

Responsibilities

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Ennis, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
