Job summary

Accountants One, Inc. has identified a strong Controller opportunity for a privately held, 100-person construction-focused company.

The ideal candidate will oversee the accounting and finance group, including 2 long-tenured staff, and will manage month-end close, financial reporting, and FP&A in a leadership-driven culture. Responsibilities include cash flow forecasting, budgeting, variances, WIP billing, cost-to-complete, and coordination with external tax accountants and auditors.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction accounting with WIP billing and cost-to-complete.
• Ability to forecast cash flow and develop strategy.

Responsibilities

• Close month and year-end processes.
• Produce financial statements for leadership.
• Manage FP&A, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare WIP reports; oversee WIP billing and cost-to-complete.
• HR duties: time cards, payroll, benefits.
• Coordinate with external tax accountants and auditors.
• Lead and supervise two long-tenured staff.

This 100-person company is privately owned with super leadership, and the company culture has asked Accountants One to locate their next Controller to oversee 2 staff in their Accounting and Finance group. This 16M company is a privately owned C-Corp with a strong benefits package, 401K and profit sharing.

Responsibilities:

• Full responsibility for closing the month and year-end
• WIP reports, review WIP billing and cost to complete
• Production of financials for leadership
• FP&A:
• Cash flow Management
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Variance analytics and ad hoc reporting
• HR responsibilities:
• Time card collection, payroll
• Insurance and benefits
• Serve as the primary liaison with external tax accountants and auditors
• Supervise 2 knowledgeable staff who have been there a long time

Requirements:

• Previous construction accounting experience, WIP billing, cost to complete
• Previous experience with cash flow forecasting and strategy
• Positive and fun attitude
