Job summary

BillingPlatform is seeking a senior accounting leader to own the full accounting function in a fast-growing SaaS PE-backed environment. You will guide financial reporting, compliance, and process improvements across a growing team, with a focus on ASC 606 revenue recognition for complex SaaS arrangements.

You will collaborate with FP&A, Sales, and Product to deliver timely close and accurate statements, while driving automation and enhanced internal controls in a private company context.

Qualifications

• CPA required with active license.
• Big 4 or top-tier public accounting background preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, SaaS/IT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes for accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and schedules.
• Own revenue recognition under ASC 606 for SaaS/subscription arrangements.
• Develop SaaS KPIs (ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, gross margin).
• Partner with FP&A for forecasting alignment.
• Coordinate with auditors and manage annual audit/tax prep.

Description

This position will own the full accounting function, combining strategic leadership with operational execution. This individual will manage the accounting team and serve as a key partner to leadership on financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting schedules
• Own revenue recognition under ASC 606, including complex SaaS and subscription-based arrangements
• Develop and maintain SaaS performance metrics, including ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, gross margin, and related KPIs
• Partner closely with FP&A to align financial reporting with forecasting and planning
• Prepare financial reporting packages for private equity sponsors and board-level presentations
• Lead lender reporting and ensure ongoing covenant compliance
• Oversee core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and general ledger activities
• Manage subscription billing platforms and ERP system integrations
• Ensure tax compliance across sales tax, income tax, and applicable international requirements
• Oversee cash forecasting and liquidity management
• Drive process improvements and automation to scale the accounting function efficiently
• Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls appropriate for a private company environment
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage annual audit and tax preparation processes
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Sales, Product, and other stakeholders on strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• CPA required; Big 4 or top-tier public accounting background preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience; preffered: including 2+ years in a SaaS IT
• Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly in ASC 606 revenue recognition
• Experience operating in a fast-paced, PE-backed environment with evolving priorities
• Experience managing international or distributed teams
• Advanced Excel skills; SQL experience a plus
• Experience managing subscription billing platforms and ERP systems
• Experience monetizing payments is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders

The base salary range for this position is from $150,000 to $200,000 per year, plus bonus, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Salary information is provided per state regulations in CA, CO, CT, MD, NV, NY, RI, and WA.

Location: Denver-area candidates preferred. Hybrid work model based out of our Denver office (10333 E Dry Creek Dr., Englewood, CO 80122).
