Zusammenfassung

NOW CFO, in partnership with the Colusa Indian Community Council, seeks a Tribal Controller to lead Colusa’s day-to-day accounting operations, from monthly reporting to tax return preparation. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll ensure accurate, timely financial insights for leadership.

You will manage an accounting team, oversee grants and government funding, and strengthen internal controls. Prior experience with MIP Fund Accounting and multi-entity governance will be a real plus.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• Five+ years of general accounting experience, including two+ years in an accounting management role.
• Valid California driver's license.
• Thorough knowledge of computerized accounting systems and procedures.
• Experience with government/public grants and grant spend-down processes.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and internal controls.

• Review daily cash flow reports and perform analysis as required.

• Assist the CFO and department directors with annual budget preparation.
• Assist the CFO with coordination of the year-end external audit.
• Recruit, train, and develop accounting staff, including the annual performance evaluation process.
• Attend and participate in professional conferences and workshops to stay current on accounting practice.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in all financial matters.

NOW CFO is partnering with the Colusa Indian Community Council to find its next Tribal Controller. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll direct Colusa’s day-to-day accounting operations, from monthly financial reporting and general ledger control to fixed asset accounting and tax return preparation. You’ll make sure leadership always has an accurate, timely picture of where the Tribe stands financially.

We’re looking for someone with a strong general accounting background and real experience managing an accounting team. You’ll be comfortable working with federal and state grant funding, and MIP Fund Accounting experience is a real plus. You’ll also bring the judgment and flexibility to work well within Colusa’s tribal government structure, where financial decisions reflect community priorities alongside the bottom line. Ultimately, you’ll strengthen internal controls, develop your team, and be a trusted right hand to the CFO through budgeting season and the annual audit.
