Job summary

Jobot is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead all accounting operations in Cincinnati, overseeing billing, AR/AP, GL, cost accounting, inventory, and revenue recognition. You will drive month-end close, financial statements, and regulatory reporting.

You have 5+ years in a similar role, CPA/CMA/CA and an MBA are preferred, with strong GAAP knowledge, Excel proficiency, and a track record of strengthening internal controls in an engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CMA/CA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior controller role.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and experience with financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close, GL, cost accounting, and inventory accounting.
• Proficient in Excel and financial software; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, ensuring quality compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Additional controller duties as necessary.

A bit about us:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team in the Engineering industry. This role is integral to our financial management process and requires a candidate with robust knowledge and experience in month-end close, journal entries, financial statements, financial reporting, year-end close, cost accounting, and general ledger (GL). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller in the Engineering industry.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements and financial reporting.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
