Keswick Hall, a luxury boutique hotel in Charlottesville, is seeking a Controller to lead financial management efforts. The role involves overseeing accounting staff, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulations.
Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and at least 4 years of supervisory experience in hotel accounting. The position encourages a proactive approach to strengthening financial integrity and requires excellent communication skills.

The Controller is responsible for providing consistent leadership in the financial area of the hotel and club by supplying the accounting staff with guidance and training. Responsible for focusing on the profitability of the business, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels on internal control, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguarding owners/investors assets.

Experienced in motivating and training others.
Experienced in ADP Payroll Processing preferred.
Experience in NetSuite ERP preferred.
Experienced in Hotel PMS (Opera and Northstar) and POS (Micros and Book4Time) a plus.
Advance Knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel and Word.
Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
Ability to handle guest requests with a sense of urgency.
Capable of working in fast paced environment and possess high level attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, are gracious, friendly and work well with others.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Ability to work flexible shifts.
Position functions semi-autonomously. Position directly supervises 3+ employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or equivalent and 4+ years in hotel accounting or audit with experience in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
