Job summary

NovaSource Power Services is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting operations for our fast-growing renewables business. You will report to the Vice President of Corporate Finance and oversee monthly closes, revenue recognition, intercompany, and process improvements across global subsidiaries.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in accounting with 3+ years in a controller role, CPA preferred, strong ERP experience (Dynamics 365), and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• BS degree in accounting and 3+ years Controller experience in an operational environment.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong ERP experience (MS Dynamics 365 Business Central) or similar; implementation experience a plus.
• Experience in a global, multi-subsidiary organization.
• Hands-on with strong technical accounting skills.
• Experience with inventory management and controls.
• Experience leading a team of financial professionals.
• Experience in solar/renewable industry or energy services is a plus; M&A preferred.
• Strong business acumen and ability to drive operational improvements.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office; Power BI and Datarails a plus.
• Drive to create and implement vision for accounting operations.

Responsibilities

• Organize monthly closing process to meet corporate deadlines.
• Manage ERP environment and internal reporting needs; implement improvements.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost accruals.
• Ensure completion of all monthly account reconciliations.
• Develop and maintain process documentation for accounting processes.
• Coordinate intercompany transactions across NSPS subsidiaries.
• Coordinate with Billing & Contracts to ensure costs and billings are accurate.
• Coordinate tax reporting and ensure timely filing.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in tax procedures.
• Participate in and coordinate external audits.
• Lead and mentor accounting team to align with group goals.

Summary

Duties And Responsibilities

• Organize and facilitate the monthly closing process to meet corporate deadlines.
• Responsible for ERP (MSD 365 Business Central) environment to ensure efficient processes and timely data output; customize and support internal reporting needs, recommend, and implement processes improvements or enhancements.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost accruals.
• Ensure completion of all monthly account reconciliations
• Develop and maintain process documentation for all accounting processes.
• Work with other NSPS subsidiaries to facilitate and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Coordinate with Billing & Contracts team to ensure costs are recorded accurately and billings to customers are complete.
• Coordinate sales & use and property tax reporting and ensure compliance and timely filing.
• Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
• Participate in and/or coordinate external audits.
• Recommend and implement accuracy and productivity improvements for the accounting team, in coordination with group goals and objectives.

Requirements

• BS degree in accounting and 3+ years Controller experience in an operational environment, CPA preferred.
• Strong ERP experience (MSD preferred); implementation experience a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in a global, multi-subsidiary organization.
• Hands-on approach with strong technical accounting skills
• Strong experience in inventory management and controls
• Demonstrated experience leading a team of financial professionals, including experience in performance appraisals, goal setting and KPI tracking.
• Experience in solar/renewable industry or other energy services is a plus; M&A experience also preferred.
• Strong business acumen and ability to drive operational improvements.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications.
• Proficiency in PowerBi and Datarails a plus.
