Atlas Restaurant Group seeks an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations across its portfolio. You will own day‑to‑day accounting integrity, build scalable systems, and report to the VP of Accounting & Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.
• Multi‑unit restaurant / hospitality or multi‑concept group experience.
• Proven ability to independently prepare complete financial statements.
• Hands‑on experience with multi‑entity, multi‑state accounting and compliance.
• Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with restaurant‑specific platforms (Restaurant365, Toast, XtraCHEF, ADP, Mirus, or similar) highly preferred.

Salary Range: $130,000.00 To $160,000.00 Annually

We are a growing multi-concept hospitality group operating several distinct restaurant brands. We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Controller to lead accounting and financial operations across the portfolio. This is a high‑visibility leadership role with a clear fast‑track path to Director of Finance for the right candidate who demonstrates strong ownership, process‑building ability, and strategic partnership with operations and executive leadership.

Reporting into the Vice President, Accounting & Finance, you will own day‑to‑day accounting integrity while helping build scalable systems, controls, and reporting that support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting operations across multiple entities and concepts (AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and cash management)
• Prepare accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) and management reports
• Lead month‑end close process and drive continuous improvement in speed and accuracy
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance
• Partner with Procurement team to manage multi‑unit inventory accounting, cost of goods, and variance analysis (food, beverage, and labor)
• Partner with operations leaders on labor, prime cost, and profitability insights
• Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes
• Oversee multi‑jurisdiction sales tax and payroll compliance
• Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury functions
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Evaluate, implement, and optimize restaurant/finance systems (e.g., Restaurant365, Toast, Mirus, XtraChef, ADP and more)
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other advisors
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and provide strategic financial recommendations to leadership
• Build scalable processes and infrastructure to support multi‑concept growth

Key Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, including at least 2+ years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
• Required: Multi‑unit restaurant / hospitality or multi‑concept group experience
• Proven ability to independently prepare complete financial statements
• Hands‑on experience with multi‑entity, multi‑state accounting and compliance
• Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with restaurant‑specific platforms (Restaurant365, Toast, XtraCHEF, ADP, Mirus, or similar) highly preferred
• Experience building or improving processes and systems in a growth environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data for non‑financial stakeholders
• High integrity, attention to detail, and comfort operating in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial setting
• Prior team leadership/supervisory experience preferred

• Strong partnership with operators that improves margin visibility and decision‑making
• Scalable accounting infrastructure ready for additional concepts or locations
• Clear readiness (within 12–24 months for the right performer) to step into a broader Director of Finance scope covering FP&A, strategic finance, and expanded leadership responsibilities
