Job summary

Inmar Inc. is seeking a Controlled Substance Material Handler to support processing of returned/recalled items in a warehouse setting. The role requires high attention to detail and strict following of SOPs specific to handling controlled substances and related items.

The position involves lifting boxes, opening containers, verifying RA paperwork, and preparing items for scanning. Forklift operation is possible if certified, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent or 2 years of warehouse/production experience.
  • Able to follow standard operating procedures and safety rules.
  • Environment may be not climate controlled.
  • Able to push a cart/hand truck up to 100 yards and use a pallet jack.
  • Able to handle hazardous waste materials with safety measures.

Responsibilities

  • Lift/move boxes to/from scanning lines.
  • Open boxes of returned/recalled items.
  • Match RA information to paperwork and contents.
  • Prepare paperwork for scanning and enter data into system.
  • Place processed items into totes and label for scanning; move totes to pallet and store.
  • Operate forklift for movement of orders/products if certified.
  • Maintain clean, orderly workstation and area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies.

Job description

Position Summary

Under direct supervision and working within a cage or secured area, a Controlled Substance Material Handler in warehouse operations is responsible for performing a variety of tasks that support the processing of returned/recalled items on behalf of a retailer or manufacturer. The shipment received for processing may contain both controlled substance items and non-controlled items. The Controlled Substance Material Handler position requires high attention to detail and ability to read, understand and follow standard operating procedures specific to this position.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Lift and move boxes to and/or from the scanning lines
  • Open boxes (or other containers) of returned/recalled items with a box cutter may contain both controlled substance items and non-controlled items
  • Visually match or identify the Return Authorization (RA) information on the outside of the container to the paperwork and specific items within the container to verify that it matches
  • Follow instructions for handling any discrepancies noted
  • Prepare paperwork for scanning by smoothing folds and removing staples; enter additional information to the system as prompted
  • Place items processed into a tote; prepare a placard with RA and tote barcode for scanning process
  • When scanning process is complete, add totes to a pallet, label the pallet for storage; move pallets to storage as directed
  • Stock empty totes at scanning lines and remove trash from the scanning area as directed
  • Always maintain a clean and orderly workstation and area
  • If forklift certified, operate forklift for movement of order/products on the processing floor, if assigned

Required Qualifications
  • High School (or its equivalent) or minimum of two year’s work experience in a warehouse or production job; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the responsibilities of this position required
  • Able to follow standard operation and safety procedures
  • Able to work in an environment that is not climate controlled
  • Able to push a cart or hand truck up to 100 yards; able to use a pallet jack
  • Able to grasp and use box cutters and seal zip lock bags
  • Able to work under time pressure and meet production goals; able to work more than 8 hours per day (over-time) as needed
  • Able to assist with other operations within the warehouse, as needed
  • Able to handle hazardous waste materials with appropriate safety measures

The hiring pay rate for this position is: $17.74 Incremental pay increase are provided at 3 months and 12 months of employment. This is a non-exempt, hourly role eligible for overtime in accordance with federal and state laws. In addition to base hourly pay, eligible employees in this role may receive: Safety bonuses based on meeting defined performance and compliance requirements. Shift differentials, where applicable(e.g. for evening or late shifts) The hourly rate offered at the time of hire will be communicated in the candidate’s offer letter.
