The opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy as a Project Financial Controller and become a key player in driving the financial success of our projects across Canada and the US. This role offers a unique opportunity to act as a business partner to Project Managers, ensuring all financial and commercial aspects are managed effectively. You will be responsible for overseeing project revenues ranging from 75 MUSD to 125 MUSD, making a significant impact on our operations. How you'll make an impact

1. Collaborate with Tender Managers on financial, commercial, and tax aspects during the tender stage.
2. Prepare and manage Project Financial Execution Plans, including revenue recognition and billing plans.
3. Ensure accuracy in project balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow forecasts.
4. Drive project cash flow and compliance with financing requirements.
5. Participate in risk identification and implement mitigation actions.
6. Conduct monthly project reviews and update forecasts in SAP.
7. Educate Project Managers on financial tools and strategies.
8. Ensure adherence to corporate governance and internal control procedures.

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Bilingual (French & English) is an asset.
• Strong S4 Hana knowledge about project cockpit and other modules supporting project portfolio management.
• 2-4 years of experience in project management and financial processes.
• Strong working knowledge of USGAAP and local GAAP.
• Experience with internal control over financial reporting.
• Excellent project management and change management skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders.
