Job summary

Setpoint Integrated Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Control Valve Technician II to perform advanced valve repair following quality standards. The role requires reading manuals, using PMI tools, and calibrating measurement equipment to exact specs.

You will mentor junior technicians, participate in training, and may take on leadership in assigned areas. Must have certification and hands-on experience with precision tools and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• HS Education or GED equivalent is a plus.
• 2–5 years of industry experience.
• Completed CV Level II certification.

• Locate, read, and use installation and operation manuals.
• Perform inspection to determine corrective actions.
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot valves per codes.
• Install instrumentation and accessories as needed.

This position requires proficiency in valve repair according to company standards, , and operating various shop equipment including test stands, disassembly and assembly tools. Additionally, the role includes readiness for manufacturer training and the ability to mentor junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• All additional job responsibilities of a Control Valve Technician I
• Locate, use, and comprehend manufacturer installation and operation manuals
• Perform inspection to identify necessary corrective action as authorized
• Perform PMI
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot valves and other equipment per applicable codes and standards per manufacturer and/or customer requirements
• Install instrumentation/accessories as necessary
• Operate diagnostic equipment (i.e. Valscope, profiler, etc.)
• Verify calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with internal quality procedures
• Measure and record critical dimensions per manufacturer specifications
• Support Control Valve Technician I employees through mentoring and/or on-the-job training
• May act in a leadership role for assigned area

Positional Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience

• HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus
• 2 - 5 years of industry experience

Skills & Abilities

• Meets all Control Valve Technician I qualifications and requirements
• Proficient in Control Valve Technician I responsibilities
• Completed CV Level II certification
• Completed QC assessment
• Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization Procedures
• Successful completion of Control Valve Level II Written and Performance Tests
• Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)
• Demonstrate the ability to properly assemble and test valves/equipment of multiple control valve manufacturers
• Demonstrate proficient use of precision dimensional equipment (i.e. dial caliper, micrometer, etc.)
• Demonstrate ability to bend and fit tubing
• Completed inspection assessment
• Completed certification training for use of Positive Material Identification (PMI) equipment
• Completed diagnostic equipment training and/or certification
• Demonstrate proficiency at pneumatic and digital positioner calibration
• Effective oral & written communication skills
• Demonstrated “can do” attitude and excellent customer service skills
• Minimal supervision required
• Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines
• Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening

Essential Physical Functions

• Lifting: up to 50 pounds
• Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
• Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
• Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs
• Able to passperiodic medical evaluations and respirator fit tests to ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards.
