Job summary

M.C. Dean is hiring a Control Technician 1 to fabricate control panels, install and commission field instrumentation, and troubleshoot and calibrate equipment. You will review work orders and diagrams, assemble panels, and update drawings as needed.

This role requires basic communication skills and strict adherence to safety practices. The ideal candidate has an HS Diploma or GED with electrical/control experience and can operate power tools safely.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with at least 1 year in a job shop and electrical/control experience.

• Willingness to safely use and maintain power tools and follow procedures.

The Control Technician 1

The Control Technician 1 is responsible for the fabrication of control panels, field installation and commissioning procedures associated with control panels and field instrumentation, troubleshooting & calibration of field instruments, equipment and control panels, testing and analysis, documentation and updating drawings of finished control panels. Care of all M.C. Dean, Inc. provided shop tools, meters, and other associated equipment

Responsibilities

• Following verbal instructions and reading instructions such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials needed and sequence of assembly.
• Communication and basic organizatinal skills.
• Performing panel build, panel mounting, panel penetrations, wiring, and cosmetic repairs.
• Ability to safely use and maintain hand and power tools.
• Undertanding and following company procedures and policies.
• Understanding and observing safety practices and procedures for various types of industrial manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

Education

• HS Diploma/GED with at least (1) year of experience in a job shop environment and minimum of (1) year of electrical/control experience.

Tools

• Various power tools including drills, saws, punch sets utilizing corded, cordless, and hydraulic methods Intermediate computer skills

Abilities

• The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
• Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
• Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
• Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
• Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
• May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
• Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
• Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
