Logical Systems, LLC is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to design automation solutions for client processes. You will apply instrumentation, control valves, Motors/VFDs, PLC/DCS configuration, and HMI/SCADA graphics to meet user needs with reliable, safe operation.

The role requires collaboration with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams, thorough documentation, post-commissioning support, and travel to client sites as required.

Qualifications

  • Degreed in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) or Computer Science.
  • Experience configuring PLC and/or DCS systems.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites (50 miles or more as needed).

Responsibilities

  • Configure PLC and/or DCS systems and develop HMI/SCADA graphics.
  • Organize project data into spreadsheets and databases.
  • Perform historian configuration and I/O checkout on installed controls.
  • Provide post-commissioning support to client operations, engineering, and maintenance.
  • Travel to client sites as required.

Job description

Control Systems Engineers work to design automation systems that control the process or machine in the desired manner. The engineer will apply instrumentation, control valves, Motors/VFDs, control system electrical design, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Distributed Control System (DCS) configuration to deliver an automation system that meets the user’s needs utilizing the minimum essential design.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Roles and responsibilities for this job may include but are not limited to:

  • PLC and/or DCS configuration
  • Organize project data into manageable spreadsheets and databases
  • Human-Machine Interface (HMI) graphics development and SCADA configuration
  • Historian configuration
  • Perform I/O checkout on the installed control system and document the checkout results
  • Provide post-commissioning support to the client’s operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel
  • Travel to the client’s site as required

Required Experience

  • Degreed in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar), Computer Science, or similar scientific / technical field

Ideal Experience

  • Co-op or intern experience in an Industrial environment
  • Familiarity and/or coursework with basic AC and DC electric circuits
  • Familiarity and/or coursework with computer programming concepts
