Job summary

HDR is seeking a Control Systems EIT/Designer in Montana. You will participate in SCADA system design, assist in selecting instrumentation and network equipment, and help develop construction documents for automation projects across high-profile facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate; candidates without EIT will be called a Control Systems Designer and should obtain EIT for career progression.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design of complex supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
  • Assist with selection and specification of process instrumentation, control panels, and network equipment.
  • Assist with development of biddable and technically accurate instrumentation and control system construction documents.
  • Assist with the development of software applications for automation such as programmable logic controller (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI).
  • Assist with system testing and commissioning activities.
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
  • Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Give direction to clerical and technical personnel.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
  • Candidates without their EIT will be called a Control Systems Designer and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
