Job summary

WorldBridge Partners – Leaders in Recruiting and Executive Search in Atlanta, GA seeks a Control Systems Engineer II to join our Corporate Engineering team. You will design, purchase, and install equipment, and assist plants with troubleshooting and process design.

Responsibilities include drafting project elements, vendor liaison, quotes, documentation, safety adherence, ladder logic writing, and basic system/network design. Travel ~30% with some weekend overnights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of engineering experience.
• Proficient in Ladder Logic with Allen Bradley PLC-5, SLC, and ControlLogix.
• HMI design experience with FactoryTalk or Ignition.
• Knowledge of Ethernet/IP and basic networking.
• Proficient in Python and Java.
• Ability to evaluate project requirements and apply solutions.
• Understanding of plant power distribution equipment and controls.

As part of our Corporate Engineering team the Control Systems Engineer II will participate in project teams designing, purchasing, and installing equipment. They will assist Plants in troubleshooting and problem solving when called upon as well as design processes for potential projects.

Responsibilities:

• Design and draft elements relating to projects for implementation.
• Contact manufacturers and vendors for materials required to support proposed design.
• Receive quotes and delivery schedules on projects.
• File documentation of engineering drawings.
• Ensure Company safety procedures are being adhered to.
• Writing Ladder Logic on new projects and existing equipment.
• Perform:
• basic computer system design – Web Gateway, Virtualization etc
• basic network design on new projects and system upgrades.
• additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Provide technical support for facilities worldwide.
• Participate in maintenance as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a field of study such as electrical, computer systems.
• Position requires between 5-7 years of engineering experience
• Strong Skills in:
• Ladder Logic, preferably with Allen Bradley systems. ie. PLC 5, SLC and Control Logix.
• HMI design, preferably with FactoryTalk and Ignition
• Ethernet/IP and basic networking best practices.
• Coding – Python and Java
• Ability to help evaluate project requirements and apply the appropriate solutions.
• Understanding of:
• plant power distribution equipment and controls.
• Demonstrated ability to combine problem-solving techniques with innovation for best solutions.
• Can look at the big picture as well as the details. This type of analysis and decision-making is needed daily.
