City of New York, through the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), seeks a qualified professional for Facilities Management & Construction’s Mechanical Maintenance and Operations. The role focuses on HVAC systems, DDC/ BAS controls, and energy-efficient operation across multiple city buildings.
Responsibilities include maintaining, inspecting, and repairing HVAC equipment and system controls while mentoring staff and updating schematics.

Facilities Management & Construction (FMC) actively manages, operates, and maintains approximately 55 City-owned court and office buildings totaling 15 million square feet. These buildings are located throughout the city and include City Hall, the Manhattan and Brooklyn Municipal Buildings, and each of the five Borough Halls. Facilities Management & Construction (FMC) provides all necessary building services to keep these buildings fully functional and operational.
Mechanical Maintenance and Operations - responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair, and operation of the installed mechanical systems in the DCAS portfolio. This includes heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, backup electrical generators, fire suppression, and domestic water supply.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
