Job description

DEPCOM is looking for a Control Room Operator. The Control Room Operator will play a key role in assisting the Operations capability team by pursuing maximum possible revenue deliveries, identifying and initiating appropriate response plans for alarm conditions that may place safety or production at risk, and implementing all applicable regulatory and contractual obligations as they apply to real-time operations fleet wide. The Control Room Operator will be responsible for coordinating day to day operations activities for a diverse portfolio of generating facilities under the jurisdiction of many balancing authorities, transmission providers, and scheduling entities.

This will be for our second shift. Day shift hours- 4:00 AM- 2:00 PM OR 12:00 PM- 10:00 PM.

Our Team

The DEPCOM Power Operations & Maintenance group is a collaborative, safety-oriented team troubleshooting at our project sites.

What You Will Do

• Monitoring and operating small and large PV (Photovoltaic) and Energy Storage systems remotely in our Scottsdale office.
• Evaluate system performance and report any irregularities by identifying equipment issues.
• Implement response plans to alarm conditions.
• Maintain operations logs and documentation.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to understand equipment status.
• Respond to operating instructions from Utilities and other grid administrators.
• Operate plant equipment based on procedural guidance or requests from Maintenance team members.
• Ensure safety and efficiency in our power generating facilities.
• Upon Hire, you will complete a comprehensive 60-day training program while on day shift that will develop necessary skills to perform the functions of an operator.
• This program has been successful in preparing new operators for success in this role.
• Upon completion of the training program, a period of on-the-job training will prepare you for working on the night shift independently.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Able to work day hours (4:00 AM- 2:00 PM OR 12:00 PM- 10:00 PM).
• Experience working both independently and collaboratively with a team.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience analyzing data to solve problems.
• Previous experience operating electrical power plants.

Starting at $25 per hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience and qualifications.
