Job Location: USA - National Hwy, Pennsauken (NJ) - Puratos US HQ Campus

The Control Room Operator observes all Puratos Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and SQF standards. This role operates all manual, automatic, and/or material handling equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining high quality standards that meet or exceed Puratos and customer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate automated industrial equipment, including changeovers and basic maintenance.
  • Report all food safety and quality issues to the Supervisor and Quality technician. Immediately report safety issues to the supervisor, maintenance, or management.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and efficiency of their work center.
  • Comply with all SOPs, GMPs, and SQF regulations.
  • Review and initiate production orders in MES and Simatic batch systems.
  • Update recipes in master control and MES.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for improvements and preventive maintenance, including work order submissions.
  • Make manual recipe adjustments to prevent product holds.
  • Support projects to streamline production processes.
  • Suggest staff adjustments for optimal production and propose corrective actions for production changes.
  • Support and oversee operators to ensure continuous production throughout the shift.
  • Use OEE systems to review, analyze, and propose solutions for major downtime issues.
  • Perform cleaning and inspections on the line.
  • Train new control room technicians and support plant departments, including expansion projects.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects to meet Quality and Efficiency KPIs.
  • Create troubleshooting documentation and promote best practices.
  • Manage MES production orders and ensure their closure.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in operations; High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and third shift.
  • Proficient in SAP, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of OEE principles, master scheduling, and capacity analysis.
  • Experience working with unionized workforces.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, influencing, presentation, and follow-up skills.

Physical Demands:

Occasional sitting, standing, walking, stooping/twisting, kneeling, squatting, reaching; constant near/far visual acuity; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.

The facility processes wheat, eggs, dairy, and soy allergens.
