Job summary

Reworld Projects, LLC is seeking an experienced Plant Operator to manage key boiler and generating equipment. You will monitor and adjust system parameters, perform safety checks, and maintain logs while ensuring compliance with procedures and company values.

The role requires a Massachusetts Second Class Engineer’s license or higher, plus 3+ years in high-pressure boiler operation or equivalent training with a high school diploma.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Control operation of power facility systems including boilers, turbines, pumps, valves, and associated electrical and air systems.
  • Read meters, gauges, recorders and annunciators to determine operating conditions and take action as per procedures.
  • Adjust temperatures, pressures, flow, and levels for plant optimization.
  • Perform periodic surveillance tests on operating safety checks and conditions.
  • Maintain logs, observe for faults, and notify supervisor of abnormal conditions.
  • Monitor operation of pumps, motors, valves, fans, dampers, grates, augers and conveyors.
  • Oversee fire protection, emergency backup equipment, electrical supply and instrumentation.
  • Monitor air pollution control equipment and report malfunctions or trends.
  • Identify and correct abnormal operating or emergency conditions.
  • Train other operators on operating principles of the facility’s steam cycles.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Control operation of systems including steam generation, condensate, feedwater, turbine/generator, circulating water, service water, fuel handling, ash handling, electrical, fire protection, air pollution control and various computer networks.
  • Read and interpret meters, gauges, recorders and annunciators to determine system operating conditions, taking action within prescribed normal and emergency operating procedures.
  • Adjust and monitor temperatures, pressures, flow and levels on station primary system components for plant optimization.
  • Initiate and conduct periodic surveillance tests on operating safety checks and tests on operating conditions.
  • Maintain required logs and calculations; observe logs for indications of faulty operation and notify supervisor of abnormal system conditions.
  • Monitor operation of systems and components including pumps, motors, valves, fans, dampers, grates, augers, conveyors, dust collections, etc.
  • Monitor operability of fire protection systems, emergency backup equipment, electrical supply equipment and instrumentation associated with station systems and components.
  • Monitor air pollution control equipment, accurately read, record data and report equipment malfunctions or trends indicating possible equipment danger.
  • Identify and correct abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations.
  • Understand and train other operators on the operating principles of the power facility’s systems, components and steam cycles.
Qualifications
  • Valid Massachusetts Second Class Engineer’s license or higher.
  • At least three years of experience with high pressure boilers and electric generating equipment OR formal technical training and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Compensation

Pay range: $84,734.00 - $116,603.00 per year (annualized salary). Pay may be adjusted based on experience, education, location, skills and other factors.
