Job description

Position Summary:
Martin Marietta is seeking a Control Person to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual is responsible for safely and efficiently starting and regulating plant processing equipment. The Control Room Operator will run and monitor plant operations from a centralized location under the direction of the Plant Manager and Foreman.

Hours: Monday-Friday: 5 AM - 3 PM

Location: Texas Quarry, Cockeysville, MD

A typical day for a(n) Control Person may include:
  1. Starting, monitoring, and regulating plant processing equipment within the company guidelines and safety standards.
  2. Adjusting equipment programming to maximize production.
  3. Generating work requests using maintenance planning program.
  4. Maintaining daily production reports and exchanging relevant information with others daily.
  5. Monitoring/Maintaining load out area and operating mobile equipment as needed.
  6. Operating other mobile and plant equipment, including skid steer, front end loader, etc. in a safe manner if needed.
  7. Conducting pre-shift equipment/plant inspections and completing required paperwork accurately.
  8. Aiding in plant operation and repairs to plant equipment.
  9. Maintaining housekeeping in areas of responsibility.
  10. Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed.
  11. Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
You may be a good fit if you:
  1. Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position.
  2. Have experience in the building materials industry (preferred).
