Job summary

Keys Energy Center in Maryland is seeking a skilled Control Room Operator to ensure safe, reliable operation of the 761MW natural gas-fired, combined-cycle plant. You will follow plant procedures and Senior Operations Supervisor directives, exercising judgment when instructions are not explicit.

Responsibilities include monitoring turbines and control systems, troubleshooting issues, analyzing data, and communicating plant conditions in writing.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years operating Aeroderivative combustion turbines.
  • Experience with Siemens T3000 and Ovation control systems.
  • Engineering background (college or military training).
  • Strong technical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, handling confidential information discreetly.
  • Perform tasks involving standing, walking, climbing, and squatting.
  • Discern verbal and auditory signals from control panels.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

$45 - $50 an hour

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record, as this position requires occasional travel for company business. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements.
