Job summary

Harbach in Houston, TX is seeking a control panel builder with at least 1 year of experience. You will assemble and wire industrial control panels, read electrical schematics, and install/test equipment in the panel shop.

Position requires attention to detail, working in an industrial setting, and bringing basic hand and power tools. Compensation will reflect knowledge and experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience building control panels.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and layouts.
• Understand AC/DC power (120/240/480VAC) and 1- & 3-Phase.
• Work in industrial/manufacturing environments with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire industrial control panels per drawings.
• Run and terminate wire in industrial equipment.
• Wire motors, brakes, and fans; test and troubleshoot cabinets.
• Use hand/power tools and PPE safely; keep work area organized.
• Collaborate with Engineers and electricians to complete tasks.

Job description

Harbach is looking for a control panel builder with some previous experience. This position requires careful attention to detail, electrical knowledge, and the ability to read electrical schematics. This job will primarily consist of building and installing industrial control panels in our panel shop as well as equipment testing and troubleshooting.

Experience:

A minimum of 1 year of previous experience is required for this position.

Compensation will be based on knowledge and previous experience.

Compensation range: $20.5/hr - $24/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and wire industrial control panels using electrical drawings and specifications.
• Running and terminating wire and cable in industrial equipment.
• Wiring of motors, brakes, and fans.
• Conduct testing and troubleshooting of control cabinets and industrial equipment to verify proper operation.
• Use hand tools, power tools, soldering and electrical equipment safely and effectively.
• Identify and use required PPE in order to perform work safely.
• Clean and organize work area to maintain an efficient and safe working environment.
• Work with Engineers and other electricians and technicians as necessary to complete work.

Qualifications:

• Previous control panel building experience.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and layout drawings.
• Understanding of electrical power, AC and DC, 120/240/480VAC, 1-Phase and 3-Phase.
• Basic knowledge of industrial devices such as VFDs, PLCs, Relays, and Transformers.
• Ability to work in industrial and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to lift and move equipment as necessary.
• A candidate filling this role will need to bring their own basic hand and power tools. such as screw drivers, wire strippers, drill, and multimeter.
• Ability to work in the US.
